Here are some things you may want to do to make your computer run a little faster.
Run the disk clean up utility
1click start, programs, accessories, system tools and disk cleanup

If you have a pile of icons on your desktop move them into a folder, and put a shortcut to the folder on your desktop. Don’t have this folder on your desktop. When the computer reads a pile of icons on the desktop it checks them all and does it all the time. Which slows it down.

defragment the disk.
You can do this by
1clicking start shut down and restart.
2When the computer is restarting, you have to press the f5 key. A few times. You have 2 press this when the little white bar is just starting to go across the screen. It is a little difficult to get it the first time.
3You will be presented with a menu. Once you c this menu use the arrows on the keyboard to choose safe mode. Then press enter.
4Allow the computer to start up It will look very strange don’t worry about this.
5Once u get on to your desktop click start, programs, accessories, system tools and defragmenter.
6When this screen comes up choose drive c and click the defragmenter button.
7Once this has finished restart the computer and let it start up as usual.

I would download and install Ad-Aware SE, run a full system scan and remove everything it finds. I would also install and run CCleaner to clear out all the built up internet clutter. You should also find a registry cleaner, or trial download that will clean your registry if you have installed and removed many programs. That will most likely fix you. You can try an online virus scan as most viruses will immediately disable your virus scanner from detecting them but my guess is internet clutter and spyware.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html
