It is common to have some bleeding in early pregnancy. Once the bleeding stops, it is also common to have a brownish discharge for awhile. This is probably "old blood" or oxidized blood that is being expelled. As long as you do not have heavy bleeding with cramps, you need not worry. Miscarriages occur in 15-20% of every pregnancy. There is nothing you can do to cause a miscarriage and there is nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage. If you have any worries, take two blood tests for pregnancy, 48 hours apart (Beta HCG). If there is a doubling of the results iin 48 hours, it indicates a viable pregnancy. If there is a halving of the results in 48 hours, it indicates a miscarriage. A sonogram at 6 weeks (from the first day of your last period) should show a fetus and a fetal heartbeat. That will also reassure you that all is well. If the bleeding or staining or brown discharge is scant, don't worry about it.

Brown discharge is usually not a big worry, since it's old blood. Definitely call your doctor and get checked. If the blood turns red, and you have intense cramps, you might begin to worry. I had bloody discharge until about four months, and I now have a beautiful baby girl. Good luck, and I hope everything turns out great.

As long as it stays brown thats fine, if it become bright red or crimson colour and clotty you should probably worry Otherwise its just your body adjusting to the pregnancy... Read my prior answers... I just finish recommending a product to a couple of people here. Its a progestrone cream you apply on your skin, its natural and I think it works... I had 4 miscarriage prior to using it and when I finally used it on my 5th pregnancy I think thats what helped... I don't know the name of the product but if you go to a Health Food store i.e. Whole foods and you ask for a progestrone creme they will show you a couple to use... they also have pills (all natural) but I'm not a pill person, anyway the creme I think works just as well because its absorbed into the skin. Do it right away.

Some discharge is normal, and since it's not bright red, I reckon you will be okay. I do however suggest you phone your dr and just get him to confirm it though. Make sure you take a little extra time to relax for the next couple of days. Sometimes in the early stages of pregnancy it takes the body and hormones a little time to adjust to the new conditions!! Do get a medical opinion though at some point! Good luck with your pregnancy!!

First, call your doctor. They may want you to come in for an exam and a possible ultrasound. Cramping off and on is normal and so is spotting. A friend of mine spotted throughout her entire pregnancy, due to her having placenta previa (where the placenta is covering the cervix opening inside her uterus.) This may be the case with you as well, but you need to contact your doctor to make sure. Good luck!

No you should not be scared. You are very likely starting to lose the mucous plug around the cervix which is one of the first signs of labor. You will probably start cramping soon. If you're worried, you can always go ahead to the hospital now but they will usually send you home if your contractions aren't regular or close enough together yet.

Discharge during pregnancy is normal, BUT you should contact your doctor and make an appointment just in case. Even if the discharge is harmless, your stress over it is not, so go seek medical advice. Good luck to you!!

honey, there's no reason to be alarmed or scared!! brown blood is usually stored blood!! when the embryo attaches itself and burrows into the lining of the uterus it may cause some light spotting!!! its usually very light pink or brown when you wipe but not enough to need a pad or anything!! and the little bit of tummy cramps are normal when the uterus starts to stretch you may have some mild cramping and and light brown of pink spotting!!
good luck!! happy holidays!!

Totally normal... or can be... your body will get rid of any old blood. My DR always told me as long as it's not RED and cramping you're fine, just take it easy.
Of course report it to your OB... everyone is different when pregnant, just be safe, and don't stress too much... your body will do a bunch of weird things.

If it is brownies/greenish discharge, it might mean you are suffering from some sort of infection. It is best for you to consult your OB immediately. Delay in getting the correct treatment might land you in miscarriage. Dont think too much, visit your doc asap.
