If I have a 4 years honors degree in psychology.can I practice as a psychiatrist?

No. I am sure you are aware that Psychology and Psychiatry are two different areas of study. In most states you have to have a Masters just to be called a psychologist. Since Psychiatrists prescribe meds you have to be a doctor.

No. A Psychiatrist is a professional title and requires being licensed through the State you reside in. The criteria involves having a PhD, along with psychiatric studies following those studies. You must take exams, etc.. You would be sued if you claimed yourself a psychiatrist without the proper credentials. You may be able to work as a counselor however, especially with a state agency but the salary is going to be a fraction of what a true psychiatrist would earn.

No. Psychiatry is a medical specialty which means that you become an MD first, then specialize.

A 4-yr degree in psychology won't allow you to practice in much of anything, honors or not.

I heard once that the only difference between a practicing psychiatrist and a psychologist is the ability to prescribe medications. So I suppose it is theoretically possible.

Maybe a psychologist but in order to be a psychiatrist you have to be an MD.

there is some difference from a psychologist and psychiatrist one can give prescriptions and the other cant i would say it is possible you could be the one that cant
