Well this will be an unbiased answer because i cheer on neither of them. I will say the Yankees because they have a better overall hitting staff and dead on closer, now that Papelbon will be back as a starter, the sox's new signings have yet to prove themselves in the MLB playing fields. I think the starters are better for the Yankees with Pettitte back and if he stays healthy. But as with all predictions they can all be tossed out the door when the season starts and the team you thought, and the fantasy predictions thought would do Bad or well turn the tables, go back to the 2003 Marlins i never saw it coming!!!

I am going with the Yankees simply because of the manager. Joe Torre knows how to win, no he doesn't win all the games and he doesn't expect to, he looks to win the "best of" meaning, if it's a 3 game series, win 2 out of three. Unfortunately for the past few years, when it matters most, the Yankees have fallen short to get to the World Series , but I have all the confidence in the world in Mr. Torre and his abilities to lead the Yankees to another AL East title. Even with the stacked BoSox rotation.

The Yankees still have the team to beat in the east. The lineup is possibly an all-star team and their pitching is not too shabby. I think bringing Pettite back instead of getting into a high stakes bidding war for some free agent was a wise thing that Cashman did.
The World Series comes through the Bronx in 2007.

Even though the Red Sox made improvements in the pitching staff, their offense comes nowhere close to the Yankees.

The Toronto Blue Jays.
Red Sox? They have a cancerous clubhouse. They just signed an unproven pitcher for 100 million dollars. Ramirez doesn't want to be there. Schilling is finished.
Yankees? Um. They can't win with Rodriguez. Clearly we should know that by now. He is the Tracy McGrady of MLB. All hype, great stats, no titles.
Jays? Good pitching, best offensive in baseball last year and they added Frank Thomas.

This is why I like the Reg. season its 162 games long so when you win the division you deserved it.Theres no backing into a 162 game schedule, most of the time the best team Wins.
for this reason I pick the Yankees, joe knows how to Win in a 162 game schedule.

the yankee lineup will beat the red sox rotation down... papelbon in the sox rotation, that guy's only used to 1 or 2 innings of work... the new japanese guy, will survive 3 innings against the yankees... after that he'll be serving up nice juicy meatballs to the likes of abreu, a-rod and whoever you name in that lineup...
