I had similar issues so I know exactly what you're going through!
Cysts are basically caused by your eggs going haywire and not knowing what to do with themselves, lol. Instead of passing through your system as usual during your menstrual cycle, they get lost and end up on your ovaries, causing cysts to be formed. The cysts usually go away on their own, but the problem occurs when they come back the next month during the same time in your menstrual cycle. My cysts always formed about a week before I got my period. I got them for two months in a row before I was diagnosed. And be careful, because the more often they form, the more likely it is to get more serious.
My suggestion is birth control pills, even if you don't need them for birth control. They were prescribed for me as "hormone therapy" pills, because that's exactly what they do. They alter your hormones so that your body doesn't produce eggs anymore. And if you're not producing eggs, then the eggs can't get lost and end up forming cysts on your ovaries. Birth control pills also regulate your period a lot better than iron. Once you start taking them, you won't have any cysts and your period will always come during the last week (heaviest dose of hormones) of the pills. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and sinceI was given the birth control pills, my menstrual cycle's been really consistent and I haven't had a single cyst or symptom!
I hope that helped, hun! I know what you're going through, trust me. If you need anything else, definitely e-mail me! Good luck, and let me know how it goes!

cysts in the ovary are generally treated through medicine so that they just "shrivel up" and go away. In case of severe / acute infestation, they have to be surgically removed. Don't get scared, but consult a good gynaec to also check whether they are benign or malignant. Once that is established, further treatment will follow. As for you problem of hair growth, its some kinda hormonal imbalance that also caused the cysts, well that's OK and can be treated easily. As for iron supplements, its OK if you are anaemic, otherwise its just a waste.
So go get your self thoroughly checked up, you are young and have a long life ahead, if not properly treated you may have problems conceiving after marriage.
I don't know what city you belong, but if you are in Delhi, I would suggest you visit AIIMS, the doctors there are excellent.
But don't worry, just enjoy. Half your health problems are solved when you stop worrying and start laughing!!!

PCO Syndrom is very common and it usually never a problem for conception. However, usually doctors place people with PCOS on birthcontrol to make the periods regular. Hair growth is also normal. When you get your scan, double check if you have PCOS on both ovaries, if you have PCOS at all.
My sister-in-law found out her's in her late 20s (27-28). She has a baby now.
I also read in some article that PCOS highly increasing in south india.
Hope this helps

PCO s are very common with most women and there is no need to worry too much about them, Cyts can be treated with medications or surgically. Dont worry, a good gynaec can treat you for your irregular periods. There are quite a few hospitals in Chennai-GG Hospital( near gemini flyover), Dr. Indira Rmammurthy, Dr. Kannan, Dr. Jayachandran, near Ega theatre, Vijaya Hospital etc are a few.

I am 18 and even now I am accused of being shallow because I only care about looks. And really it's common for the guys between 13 and 16 years to mock and be mean girls who are not good looking, while shamelessly flirt and some even kiss the asses of the good looking ones. However when I'll want a wife I'll get myself a waitress. Oh how I love how they treat me.
