Last time the mom hamster ate the baby when she had it. Now she is pregnant again, how can I keep her from eating this one???
She is behavior like a mad women, she's been soooo hyper.
The dad is seperated already.

I had a dwarf hampster who had babies and she ate all but two of them!!! We ended up taking the mom out of the cage for most of the day but let her in to feed her babies and soon as they were done we took her back out. we did this for about two weeks til the babies got bigger and then they were fine. The boy baby hampster ended up getting the girl baby pregnant (gross!!!) so we took them to the pet store but kept the mom. I'm not sure why they do this but try separating them...don;t touch the babies though it will make the mom go nuts smelling human on babies...good luck!

Separate the mom and babies unless the mom is feeding them, take her out right after......do this until the babies get bigger
