you should have exceptional vocal skills and the ability to keep listeners hooked on to you. If you have the talent to attract people then you should go to the nearest radio station and try out.

You might attempt to volunteer at a radio station, and learn about it that way. For instance, in New Orleans we have a jazz radio station, 90.7 - WWOZ.
This is a volunteer-operated, community radio station.
All show hosts are volunteers who are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the music they play.
