It's okay. You just have to keep them extremely clean as the salt will eventually attack and ruin the chrome.
If you haven't bought the wheels yet, buy a set of wheels AND tires so that you can use the OEM wheels in the winter and the chrome wheels in the summer.

There should be no reason why you wouldn't be able to ride on "18's in the snow. You'll more than likely be having Lo Pro's to go with the wheels , just let out about 5-10 p.s.i. when driving in snow or ice, but don't forget to bring the air pressure back up after all the snow and ice has melted. The lower p.s.i. will ofcourse increase your rubber to surface contact. So you're getting better traction even if you have Z rated tires. One more thing bro, try using a spray-on polish called "Honda Cleaner/Polish" on your chrome wheels, you can find it @ any Honda motorcycle place. This stuff is EXCELLENT and safe for chrome, plastic, painted plastic, glass etc. I don't work for any motorcycle shop or anything like that but I DO own a crotch rocket,Jeep and 4-Runner and I never take my vehicles to any car wash's you just simply spray it on and wipe it off.. it's that simple and easy! it's nothing like tons of other spray-on's i've ever used. It'll leave just about ANY surface as if it's been washe and waxed ( without the "wax" build up) Good luck bro.

If you are asking about the ability of the chrome to handle the salt
I would say go get some sercive rims and ride them untill the threat of salt and other road additives has passed.
Why spend money on shiny and then try to wear the shiny off...?

If they fit and the front tires will turn and not rub on the frame of the car ---- but,,, if you change the size of rims and tires then you screw-up the factory pre-sets in the car's computer and the rotation counter __ all the controls that give you the fuel and engine settings that allow for efficient operation of your G>P>.....

Sure, just keep them clean. Not the tire profile, its the treads that matter for grip in snowy weather.
