i want to know becuase where i live in New Brunswick they are not very trustworthy

School districts try to control the Internet content that comes into the classroom. Chat sites are primarily social networking and not really education based. Another problem with the Internet is various porn sites that advertise on chat sites and, yes students quite often find ways to get around the school's blocks and go to porn sites and download music. This is just not appropriate usage of school computers

Most schools block Instant messages and My space and any other site that the students can personally communicate on. The purpose of computers in schools is to do school work, not talk to others. Its also a way to keep predators out of the school experience.

most public institutions block "social"websites and services that are not work related. however you go to the yahoo messenger website and at the bottom of the page in tiny print is a way to launch a "browser" version. it doesnot download messenget to the computer! yay! there is always a way to to put it to the man!

"launch web messenger" then enable popups. you must have java.
