I never take revenge. I just sit back and let karma do the work for me.

Yes... you feel power, however there is one thing you'll never fel after revenge. Happiness. Your power comes from a negative energy force and cant be translated to a positive feeling.

There is also one big risk in revenge; undeserved harshness. When u take revenge you are usually in anger; anger makes you desire to cause more pain or harm than you feel you received. When you do you tend to go way beyond an "equal" response.

As a closing thought, before taking revenge, consider one thing. If somebody harms you, the deed is on them; when they think about you they will never be able to say that you are as "bad" as they are. Once you take revenge they can feel ok about what they did, since now you have proven that you are as "bad" or worse than them.

it depends on your personality, but mostly like me, if i took revenge from somebody, i feel power for a short period, then this feeling fades to the opposite making me feel sorry for my act. You get the feeling that what you have done was not necessary and you regret your act for a v long time, but in the end, it also depends, on what is the revenge for, how did you revenge... things like this

Well the do-gooder above me is right, whatever revenge you wreak will come back on you, possibly even worse, so it had better be worth it! On the contrary, it can feel fantastic in the short term, delivering some much needed retribution to the little so and so who wronged you, but in the long term it can hardly seem worth the effort in the best case scenario.

But yes, it can feel very empowering.

I feel the greatest power when I tell myself that I really want to wreak revenge on somebody, but yet I can control myself and stop myself in time and not do it.

No

"What comes around goes around" ...where is the power here?
"It will all come out in the wash some day" ...here? Nope

so

"Do unto others as you would have done to you" Yes, ...now there's that power and look no revenge, no hassle, no guilt :D

The power and energy from anger and revenge is temporary. And when it dies down, guilt, and shame take over.
"Working with Anger" is an excellent book to read which will greatly help you with this.

Wish I knew. The only revenge I want is with a tomahawk....and that really isn't appropriate these days.

i see that majority of the people who disagree with revenge are those who fear repercussion because they have no one to back them up. i really show my sympathy to these people. therefore, i am going to be a hero and deal with vicious people seriously. i can't be bothered whether or not they will take revenge on me. if they come back to you again, give them twice or thrice as much.
