I would like to brighten my smile. Does anyone have any product beside whitening toothpaste that they have used successfully? Either "professional" or mass market. What do you use/recommend?
Thank you!

I use professionally made bleaching trays & "bleach". The bleach comes in a syringe, which lasts about a week. There are four in a box so obviously one box lasts a month-at least. I started the process with my dentist but have found someone online that sells everything you need at a much lower price. It is the same stuff I used to buy at the dentist so I KNOW what to look for when I buy it. She also sells what you need to make your own trays.
It cost me about $250 to get started for the trays & four months of supplies (package deal) but she can get you started for about $50-75 for trays & a month of supplies.
The trays are the main part of the cost ($300 per set-upper & lower). I just bought the upper but some dentist will not let you do that.
As far as sensitivity, the stronger percentage of whitening you use, the more likely you are to be sensitive. I started with 15%, moved up to 20% but now use the 30%. I also used Colgate for sensitive teeth & do not have any problems. (the cost does go up as the solutions become stronger). My last box of solution was $35, but would have been about $20 if I had bought the 20% instead).
If you want the email information of the lady I buy from, please contact me.

Hi Mike, First of all - people mentioned that using trays will cause gum recession -- mainly because when the tray didn't not 100% fit to your teeth and the peroxide has leak to your gum and this will cause your gum problem! If the tray you are using can 100% fit to your mouth, then it shouldn't be any problem! Also, you should notice the pain after you use the trays! Second - if you have gum recession problem, I will highly recommend you to ask for your dentist advice before using teeth whitening trays! It might not be the best choice for you! Third - Whitestrips might be better in this case, however, it is still using the strip which could easily to touch your gum without any control! If you have tooth sensitivity problem, teeth whitening really not your solution, and you are not recommended to use it! Some of my friends still using it even they have sensitivity problem, and they choose the powder swab or pen method as they can easily control where to fill the peroxide on their teeth.. and this can definitely avoid to hurt your gum! You can check out the review on the below link for your reference! Hope this helps! Nick

You've gotta try GoSMILE. It's more expensive than strips and pastes, less expensive than a Dr. visit. I've never heard of a sensitivity complaint with the product. They have kits to bring the cost of everything down a bit, or you can just try it out with using just one aspect of it. The results are very dramatic, very long-lasting, and always get comments. The application is wicked easy... if you can put chap-stick on, you can do this. Proceeds from their toothpaste line were going to Autism Speaks or something too... I'm nearly positive they're still doing that. Check out the website and testimonials!

OKAY, I know this probably will not help at all, but I thought I'd try. Go to your dentist and talk to him/her about it. A few years ago I went to the dentist and decided to bleach my teeth. I don't remember what it was called, but they made a mold of my top row of teeth and bottom row of teeth. When I came back the next time to pick them up, they were clear plastic "trays" that fit my teeth exactly! You purchase the bleach at the same time and you take all of it home, so you can do it anytime, anywhere. You just apply the bleach to the trays, and because the mold perfectly fits your teeth, you end up with an amazing white smile!

going to the dentist to get your teeth whitened is the best but you can also buy products at walmart and other stores that are little strips that you put on that will whiten your teeth....

unfortunatley....if your teeth are the least bit sensitive you will most likely experiance sharp pains. True story....a woman was in her arobis class and she got this sudden sharp pain that felt like someone stabbed her tooth and then she fell down on the ground and started crying and no one knew why but they figured out it was her teeth whitening but i think she was using some high powered dentist whitening.

my mom said when she used crest whitening strips her teeth hurt so bad she wanted to cry. i bought some whitening strips 2 days ago then my mom told me and now im kinda scared to use them...........i dont like pain...lol. good luck

I used to use Simply White gel. Just apply as directed and it works great and lasts for a while too. Your teeth have to be dry, otherwise the peroxide mixture won't adhear to your teeth so it won't do it's job. Whipe them with a towel, then apply, keep your mouth open for 30 seconds so air can get on them. You can't eat or drink for 30 minutes after though. But it works great and it's much cheaper than the strips.

Or you can use plain peroxide. Use the same technique above.

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural
tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries
but certain precautions have to be taken.
