...and you're getting your voice back soon? This is temporary, yes?
If so, then you get to LIP SYNC when the tunes come on! Since everybody knows you can't really sing, make the most of it and be entertaining: When you move your lips to a song, gesture boldly with your face and arms, move yourself like you're really into the song and singing on Broadway. If you have no real voice, put all of the rest of yourself into it. It's still practice!
Drink Slippery Elm tea, it strengthens the vocal chords and soothes all the throat, relieving dryness and itch.
Good luck.

hi.

I didnt know your age..perhaps at a certain age where you become a adult , ie., a grown up, your voice will change and become more mature as you were....This is no wonder and nothing to worry about..you might get a sweeter voice than before..

during the transistion your voice might looks stranger to you,..dont be bothered.

keep practicing to tone your voice , sing at a low , steady voice and with practice you can see you have perfect control over your voice..tips like taking warm water , avoiding ice creams (for that matter anything that avoids cold) can help you get a much sweeter voice ...gud luck buddy.

It's only temperary, so why are you making such a big deal. It's not like losing ur voice is going to ruin ur lil reputaion. So drink some tea and get over it. And not to be mean but hopefully u have bigger problems in life than just losing ur voice.

Jeff why did you avoided giving details. It's not easy to repply even after patient exam. Now just imagine how difficult is it to give correct answer.
I am too worried because there can be cancer of phyarinx if you don't have an ordinary cough disease. So if your sound is improving no problem, but if it is decreasing immediately you will have to go for biopsy. If you haven't approached ENT surgeon pl. do it immediately.

Just see if you can get some honey and lemon tea and gargle with warm salt water. Also, make sure you keep your neck covered up and warm. You should be fine in a few days.

Hopefully you don't have any larger problems than a sore throat in a life. If you do have laryngitis, don't whisper it puts more strain on your larynx then speaking softly.

Please get to your doc.
You may have a throat infection or strep throat and don't know it.
You may need antibiotics, because the infections stay unless you get help.

GOD bless.
