Cows sleep laying down, it is the horse that can sleep standing up.

It is a natural instinct standing; Similar to a dog turning around 3 time before laying down to sleep they do this to keep from laying on a snake. Cows are ready to run.

Cows CAN sleep standing up, but rarely do. I've never seen one sleep standing up, and I check 180 every night before bed.

Many animals that are prey animals sleep standing up. It allows them to start running on a moments notice.

Than might lay down, but usually it's when they have their eyes open, looking for potential danger.

they sh1t! thats all cows do is sh1t! devour grass & sh1t at the same time. They walk & sh1t, run & sh1t,moo & sh1t.. you try strolling by skill of a field or usa highway & all there is is cow sh1t! they merely arch that tail and sh1t!!!
