I have no intention of getting a bat. I'm just curious because I had a professor once who kept saying they made good pets.

I think the important question is, why would a wild animal be happy in your house? Exotic and wild species in general make very poor pets, and the people who deal in them typically adhere to the lowest ethical standards, so don't enourage their trade. If you do, you're essentially supporting poaching.

i don't think its natural for a bat to be a pet...first of all, bats need freedom to fly around, confining them in a small space will not do justice to them...secondly, where will the bat come from? are there pet stores selling them? is that legal? bats are part of the natural biodiversity and should not be taken away from nature and put into an artificial, man-made space...unless of course you're nursing it back to health and release it after...

they bite and dont let go,and you would never be able to catch enough insect a day to keep it alive,in the uk they are an endangered species ,so it is illegal to keep one
