what do i do next about my sound card?

i have looked at the back and have my three colors. went to my computer there are several types of sound things there anyone in particular i am looking for? what does it mean if in the volume setting it says no audio hardware?

It means it isn't working properly. try updating the drivers ..... Here is a site that should have what you are looking for. I had to update the drivers on my son's computer because XP didn't pick it up.
