My fiance and I planned a child and shortly before the wedding we broke up. Im pregnant with a baby due in April, he has given up his £65,000 a year job and sold his house. I have no idea where he is and he say he will not pay child support. Do you think the CSA will catch him? Is there a minimum he has to pay, (Im not sure he would be entitled to benefits), what if he goes abroad?

Should I write to the CSA and tell him this is his intentions or should I just wait and see when the baby comes. It is not the money that is the issue even if he paid £5 a per week it would show they had caught him and he has to acknowledge some degree of responsibility. If he lives of the money of the sale of the house for a while am I entitled to anything, I am under the impression he intends to live of the assests.

Being someone that has been shafted by the csa

( i was happy paying before the csa became involved)

If you do find out where he lives/works they will send him a letter normally recorded asking him to reply with his details of employment e.t.c they will give him a fair bit of time to do so.But if he does not reply and he is working they will give him a deo

order...this basically means they will make up a payment THAT THE CSA FEEL HE SHOULD PAY AND THEN TAKE IT STRAIGHT OUT OF HIS WAGES
This money will be backdated to when the first letter is sent to him even its 4 years later...what they do is take payment for now o a weekly/monthy bassis and also make him pay a certain amount off his arrears these 2 payment come out of the same deo order.

All fathers/mothers are responsible for there kids.

As for the sale of his house...not to sure maybe they can force him to apy off any csa money owed to you before he gave up work e.t.c

They will catch up with him. My Mum & Dad split up when my sister was 4, (she is now 14) & never paid any child support, last week my Mum got a letter & a cheque from the CSA for her Daughter form her Dad. It took 10 years but she got something!!!

Of courst you should contact the CSA, how else are you going to get the correct answer.
Jeez, its pointless asking questions of this nature on a site like this.

I'd suggest you engage the services of a barrister in this matter.
