I would simply recreate again.

The Internet *has* to exist. Even in the event of worldwide catastrophe, the Internet (in some form, wireless or wired) will make a reemergence. This is because the Information Age has established it as the premiere example of the perfect medium. As teachers say in school, "Knowledge is Power", and the Internet is the best source for knoweldge. Granted, you might not be able to rely on it for accurate information, but those adept at using it are capable of filtering out the false information.

In rebuilding the Internet, I would take care to use mesh networks (a form of wireless where an entire region is blanketed in access points) and implement IPv6.

Same things I did 20 some yrs ago before there was computers. Play cards, shop, visit with friends, chat on the phone. People today think everything is BORING unless it's electronic. GET A LIFE I say to you all who can't live w/out cell phones, computers or the latest video equipment. You are not living. The good old days were better in a way. technology is nice, but don't make it your GOD.

Well, thinking about it, I'm not sure. I spend a lot of time using it, either downloading, playing games, reading the news, among various other things. I'm sure I would find other things to do, but if it were just instantly taken away from me, I might go through some kind of withdrawl.

That's like asking what we'd do without telephones, or television. I can't bear to think about it!
