I hesitate to name my biggest "mistake" because had I not made it, I would not be where I am today, and that would be sad... but giving into peer pressure at the late age of 18 was definitely one of the biggest "oopsies" of my life (so far). Because I didn't want to be "left behind" by my friends, I started using methamphetamine and quickly became an addict. Before using meth, I had no idea it was such a big deal, but now that I am dealing with the aftermath, I realize it is so hard to go back to that simple, innocent place my mind was before I became an addict. I wish I could've been stronger back then, but on the other hand, saying I am a RECOVERING methamphetamine addict is amazing, because so many lives are ruined and/or lost because of methamphetamine. Re-learning how to live a functional life without the use of meth has made me amazingly strong. I'm not sure I'd change the past if I had the chance.

My biggest mistake in life was not giving my step mother a chance when I was 8. I felt threatend. She was trying to take the place of my mother and has taken the father that I had for almost 4 years to myself away from me. But i have now realized that I was Very selfish and I should of been a better child when i was younger. because here I am in the same sitiuation. But, Mine isn't as bad as i treated my step mom. I have learned that over the years hey my step mom wast a better role model for me because of my lifestyle earlier in life with a mothe who was always drunk. Which isn't drunk anymore she finally got help. But that is one thing i think i will always say is the biggest mistake.

UGH! I had an opportunity to go to work for IBM's "Prodigy" online service back in 1987, yes nineteen EIGHTY seven, and I passed it up.
I was 18 years old, a college student, and a rock journalist in the "heavy metal 80s." I thought interviewing bands around the country was dramatically more exciting than being stuck in White Plains, NY working for the Big Blue Behemoth.
I ended up being a technology professional anyway and ironically enough even worked for IBM/Lotus for 3 years. Had I taken the Prodigy opportunity back then, I'd be rich and retired today. *Sigh* But that's the story of my life; I learn just about everything the hardest way possible. :-\

Allowing myself to become an alcoholic...Fortunately I was a happy drunk, but making my family worry about my health for so long makes me very sad. I've been sober for 11/2 years now, and it's the best!!!!!!!!!!
