does anyone know how to get the sound back on , ive tried system restore but didnt work .

Download your sound card drivers, you might be thinking of Realtek maybe. Go to your computer or motherboard manufacturer's site to download the drivers.

If you have the driver cd install the driver again. If you don't have the cd gp to the manufacturer's website and download the relevant driver for the device from there.
If you dont know the sound card, download the SW from the link below. This will detect the hardware on your system. You can then download the relevant soundcard driver from the website.

Have you tried the recycled bin to see if it's there? You can restore it by clicking restore.

well type your model number on google and the laptop type plus drivers then download them from the manufactors website and install them.
for example if you had a laptop from samsung model v20 you would type on google/yahoo search
samsung v20 download driver.
the chances are they it will be in the top 5 results. i hope it helps.
