It would be nice but this would be like threads of answers to comments....too intertwined!!!! You still can edit your own answer and go back and add to it to agree or disagree with another responder...I have!!!
See I came back a minute later and wrote this...this way the person is identified within the same area of the initial answer...

No. This is why they have message boards. To see how bad answers could be, look at the yahoo message boards. There are scores of posts floated every minute over there, and no dialog ever results. The pace is like that of a waterfall. I wouldn't want that to happen here. Besides, you cannot make a site that is supposed to be about providing answers to common questions a troll forum, which the politics section is very close to now anyway.

I gave this a bit of thought before answering this question. And I decided it would be a bad idea. At first thought I thought hey that would be cool, but then I thought about all the name calling and other stuff that goes on in this particular forum and I thought no it would be a very bad idea.
Besides there is a forum that people could take an ongoing conversation about a subject to.

I would bet 'dollars to donuts' that, if they did what you suggested, it would be done simply to placate people. Your comments would go to email Heaven and never be read. Then the old standard and automated reply would be received by you.
