This reaffirms my belief that you are a conservative in disguise, Hellbent. I knew I liked you. I like families too. Liberals hate all that is good and defend all that is bad.

Well...lets see what were the "old families" all for that liberals are against.

1) Slavery
2) Racism
3) Segragation
4) Inequality.

Comes down to Liberals not hating families but having viewpoints that disagree with you. I could use YOUR reasoning and say families hate America, freedom, equality, justice..but I don't because that would not be true.

as for your 3 examples
A. Gay Marriage..there is no good, reasonable argument that supports denying the right to marry to gays..straights divorce, commit adultery, beat children, have changed what marriage is...all of what you bigots say will happen if gays marry..it is not just!

B. Abortions...as a man, who is not the father or married to the pregnant woman, I have no right to decide this. I guess my main stance is that while if it was my choice I would decide against doing it I do NOT want the government deciding what life is.

C. Out of Wedlock children. It is NOT the kid's fault so why blame them? What about wedlock will guarentee that the kid gets what he/she needs that cannot be provided without a piece of paper? I agree that people should not take having children so lightly but there is no reason based on decency, goodness, justice or faith that says we should stigmatize these children. Also I give you that while I would say people should be more responsible it is NOT for YOU or the GOVERNMENT to decide for me whether I can have a child or not as a single person.

HOWEVER, I do agree that the liberal leadership (just like the conservative leadership) has been taken over by the extremeists and needs to be taken back by the real conservatives and liberals instead of the whackadoos in charge now

To your surprise
There are Republicans
a. That are gay(Foley)
b. That had abortions
c. And of wedlock childrens.
Republicans destory the Family Structure, rewarding the Super-Rich. and getting rid of social programs that benefitted the Family.
Having Wars and removing the Father or Mother from the Families just like in the olden days of TV. Some Families end up with no Father or Mother.
Who you do think fight these Wars????

Why do Republicans want everything that is opposite of a Family Structure????

First of all, how could of call the families from the old days of TV a real family? I sure as hell have never seen a family like the one on Leave It to Beaver.
Why do conservatives get so much pleasure out of making two people who love each other suffer? I personally would rather see a child growing up with gay parents than being abused at home.
Why do conservatives think it is neccessary to make a 13 year old girl who was raped by her father go through an unwanted pregnancy? The child would probably grow up resented and have too many issues to deal with.
And having children out of wedlock and being against abortions are pretty much contradicting yourself. If a woman gets raped and becomes pregnant, should she have to marry her rapist? Is should she just abort the baby? Why make her suffer more than she already had?

Society has indeed moved away from the idea of a nuclear family that stays together to raise children. No-fault divorce, out of wedlock births, abortion and same sex marriage may all be the result of people focusing on THEMSELVES rather than acknowledging much of a responsibility fo the next generation.

You can find plenty of liberals AND conservatives who don't measure up.

But I agree that we seem to have gone too far - by trying to be "inclusive" we have ceased to dare have any opinion on what is right and wrong, or what alternatives are better than others.

well, first of all, are you God? I think not. What gives you the right to say that gays are wrong? Also, I suppose you would rather let babies be born who noone wants, so they can be abused or crack addicted. Let's just keep on populating and overcrowd everything. Who says that a family has to be a mom, dad and kids? There are a lot more to a family than that. A family is a group of people that love each other. There are plenty of screwed up traditional families. Obviously, you are a supporter of the Bush family> How do you justify them as human beings? They are so corrupt, it is pathetic. Also, what about all of the sexual misconduct going on in the Catholic Church? How do you justify that? Oh, I suppose it is okay, because they are holy men? You just don't have a clue. You think the war is a good thing? What if it was your son or daughter over there fighting?

Because a strong family never needs government intervention.

A strong family with traditional values either avoids the above examples, or simply has no need for them.

Thus, if your world view is that government is good and is the answer to people's problems, then any structure that has usually been stronger than government is likely to be disrespected or attacked.

In the liberal pee brain consenting adults in a family relationship with children don't have enough sense to pour pis from a boot with the instructions on the heel.... Gotta have CPS, counseling, HSDS, and somehow lets get the courts in your shorts too...
Get a life, what the hell does slavery, war, racism, or inequality (whatever that is) have to do with a healthy family life?
Hey lets dress all the kids in nice little white shirts with red neckerchiefs.... and make them all think alike...

Didn't you pay attention to Sesame Street as a kid? A family is a family, whether it is made up of two men and their adopted kid or a mom, dad, 2.5 kids, and a dog.

I REDHED1983 the (non-trolling) liberal am getting sick of narrow-minded views like yours.

I support gay marriage and gay adoption as an alternative family structure, I support distributing condoms to poor people instead of spending millions of dollars teaching abstinence to prevent unwanted pregnancy

-do you remember the old days, woman couldn't work, they were slaves in the house, do we really want to go back to that
