People say between 16 and 22 weeks is when you'll start to feel the baby moving around. They also say it may happen sooner with your second than with your first, since you know what to expect. (You may feel the first at around the same time as the second, but just not attribute it to the baby - you may think it's gas or something...)

I'm at 19 weeks and 1 day and so far have not felt the baby move. Or if I have, I just haven't realized that it's the baby moving. :o) Once I've hit and passed 22 weeks, if I still haven't felt the baby move, then I'll probably start to worry, but for now, I'm just enjoying it for what it is...an expanding tummy with a little bundle of joy inside. :o)

It's possible at 18 weeks to feel the baby kick. You may feel it and just not attribute the feeling to your baby... Once you "defintiely" feel the baby move, you'll know that the what you felt earlier was the baby. Typically, you can feel the baby around 20 weeks or so. So if you haven't already, maybe by New Year's you'll feel a flutter! It's exciting... enjoy it!

I am in my second pregnancy and have felt the baby kicking since 10.5 weeks. At night, when you first lay down in bed, put your hands on the uterus. Lay still, and you should start to feel little pops, bubbles, etc. Butterflies, fluttering, vibrations, etc. (Note: You won't feel it in your hands, you feel it inside your belly - I just notice if I place my hands there, I'm more aware of that area). This works for me every night. It's so cool! Good luck! Also, I felt my first baby by 14 weeks or so. But I really paid close attention.

18 weeks would be about 4 1/2 months. I think that might be possible. I felt him kicking at about 5 months.

Of course it is not unusual to feel your baby movement during 18 weeks. Some even get to feel it about 15 weeks. So treasure that very moment when your baby is inside you.

I didn't feel my baby until sometime during my 19th week. Everyone told me I'd feel this tiny fluttering, but when I started to feel her, she was actually making rather large movements and it was very intense. My husband actually dragged me to the hospital fearing that something was wrong! So, don't feel bad if you don't feel the baby yet, and don't be surprised if it isn't tiny flutters.
