I am a big fan and I am reading through them all. I am over half done and curious what people think. My favorite is Mother Night.

frankly i could not tell. each of his books has a part of him. a different story to tell. almost similar focus but different situations (?). its just hard for me to say "this is his best book"! just read them all. they are all excellent especially since he writes from experiences.. his stories revolve around something he has seen in real life.

Happy Birthday Wanda June is my favorite among many others. Deadly Dick is a good read. Of course, Slaughter House Five. Yet let's not forget Vonnegut's latest work, Hocus Pocus, is a good read. I've read more than half of Vonnegut's books, and more than half of Philip Roth's books. Both are great American writers of our times.

Most will say "Slaughterhouse Five", but I think his best was a short story called "Harrison Bergeron"

Slapstick or Sirens of Titan. I go back to both of those for repeat readings.

the sirens of titan is my favorite. but i think his most acclaimed is slaughter-house five (based partly on KV's experiences as a POW in a nazi death camp/body disposal camp)
personally, i wasn't too fond of timequake.

I think they are all great. But I just reread "God Bless You Dr. Kevorkian" and I am still laughing.
