Violence is not bad!!!! Its the idiots who play the game and say "hhmmmm... I should try that". So im honestly tired of politicians saying that violent games make for violent kids. i ONLY play war games and i am fine. I also have shot shotguns and pistols before and my grandparents house so i guess that helps.

Violent games are not bad so long as the level of maturity to play them is high. If the gamer comes with a strong family background and can distinguish that it's just a game, it will be no different than any other game. I've played violent games off and on for years, the ultimate goal is in beating the game. The violence is secondary. Sure, you may think using a chainsaw to kill an enemy like in Gear of War is awesome, but it's just imaginary. Plus, a lot of people use such means for stress relief. If I work in a crap job, I can take it out on the game. No harm, no foul.

violent video games are not bad..does this have a age limit? While I agree that violent are not bad I do have to say certain ages of people should not play them. Such as kids the age 1-12 should not play games with blood and such. Kids at that age do not know the difference of real and not real and even what can be done in real life and only in games. But if the age of kids you are talking about does not go that low then his arguement can be kids os so&so age know the difference of right and wrong and what can only be done in games. So the fact that people say violent video games are bad for you is plain wrong....something along those lines.

Most of us live in reality. We know that stuff isn't real. We wouldn't do those things in actuality. I mean look at all the people who grew up watching The Three Stooges. Totally violent. Are those generations of people violent? I don't think so. If a person is mature enough to realise that those games are not real then I don't see how they can negatively affect someone. It's just a game.

There is no scientific evidence to support that violence in video games causes violence in real life. Yes, some people commit violent acts after playing violent games, but some people commit violent acts after takeing a shower, does that mean taking a shower causes violence?
Furthermore, if you get into if games should be banned for minors, argue that parents should be the ones to determine if a game is too violent for their kids, it's not up to the goverment to be the parent.

There is an article in Gammer magazine which informs the reader of an experiment conducted with violent video games in prison. The results showed a 30 percent drop in violence within a month of testing from one prison allowed to play video games vs another prison not allowed to play video games.

I remember reading in a article about I socially impaired teenage boy how played violent games for hours and hours day and night even dressed like the matrix character Neo come to his father and mother with black trench coat sunglasses and two large automatics and fired his parents to death. I'm sure these people we hear about already have psychological issues but putting these how to kill or terrorist training games on the market do show impressionable kids and adults how to kill and are rewarded on there skill for it. I think less violent games are better I love The Sims or Mario games and in moderation these are OK. That my opinion

it all depends on the type of kid. playing video games doesnt affect the childs state of reality unless he cannot tell the difference between the two. if he is very young then he might take notice of the unrealistic things, that games do, and ACTUALLY know that what happens is real. instead while the child is young parents should simply limit his time to video games and make sure he understands that its just a game. violent video games do not promote violence, thats just dumb.
