Tell her to keep some crackers at her bedside so that she can munch down on some before she even sits up. Part of morning sickness is caused by having an empty stomach.

Eating peppermint candies can help, as peppermint helps to reduce nausea.

She should eat a little bit all throughout the day to keep her stomach full.

She should drink gatorade or pedialyte if she is throwing up. It will help to keep her hydrated- which helps keep her from a "throwing-up cycle." Being dehydrated will just keep her dry heaving over the toilet.

Help her to avoid her triggers. Like raw meat and stuffy cabinets did it for me. One sniff and I was running to the bathroom. Cook for her, get stuff for her if it's near something that smells "weird" to her.

I went through the same thing during my first pregnancy, losing 10 pounds in the first 3 months. During my second pregnancy, I did all these things and I didn't have any problems.

I'm not sure what your question is, but this is normal. It's called "morning sickness". But don't let the term confuse you, it can hit at any time of the day, not just the morning. Just be sure she's taking a prenatal vitamin, it will supply her body with the majority of her nutrients. Crackers and ginger ale might help ease the nausia too. My sister-in-law lost 15 pounds her first trimester, then the nausia subsided and she began gaining a healthy amount of weight. If your sister is losing too much weight though, it may be a problem and she should see her doctor. They can give her something to help her keep her food. Best of luck to you and your sister.

This sounds like morning sickness. For some people it only lasts for a little while, for others it lasts through the whole pregnancy. For me I used red raspberry capsules. You can take the capsules or if she can keep it down, drink red raspberry tea. A friend of mine put yellow mustard on saltine crackers and that was the only thing that helped her. She said it was something in the mustard. It's not fun to go through morning sickness, but if nothing works, she can get something from her doctor to help with nausea without hurting the baby.

Sometimes that happens. If she's got morning sickness, it's not uncommon to not be able to eat. I would tell her to make sure to take a prenatal vitamin (best time of day for me was right before bed) and eat whatever you can. I tended to stick with comfort foods... mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, cereal and soup. Whatever you can keep down. She'll feel better soon and be back to eating better soon. Just make sure she eats SOMETHING!

it gets better trust me. I had the same problem for the first part of my first trimester. Just tell her to get plenty of rest and give herself sometime it will get better. i lost at total of 10 pounds and it won't take her long to gain it back once she make it thru the morning sickness.

Good luck
