grip your fingers around the seam, you should not have all the contact of your fingers and thumb, but enough to be able to hold it comfortable, to get the most swing you have to generate pace, and to do so you need enough behind in the ball in terms of your hand, but also not enough to cause it to come out of your hand too late in your action because you have too much grip on it.
holding your wrist solid so your hand, wrist and forarm are all straight together will help increase the chance of the ball staying seam straight as your bowl it, and as it pitches.
your can make the ball swing by "shining" it, either by playing in wetter conditions and rubbing the side on your trousers or top, to casues a shiney surface, always shine the same side, one should remian rough. the same can be done in dryer conditions, spit on the ball or wipe sweat from your forhead or arms onto the side you want shiney and then do the same thing rubbing one side, if the track is a little dusty then as you walk back past the crease, rub your hand in the dust for extra grip, then rub the dust into the "rougher" side, to help dull that further and make the other side seem shinier, continue to do this everyball and make sure it stays shiney. also when you shine make sure you rub the ball fast and try and make the shiney side hot, this will also help, i take it your in england were the conditions are slightly colder than in the sotuern hemasphere, so having the side slightly hotter will help it react with the air and swing more.
further on from swinging you will want to keep the seam straight so it has maximum time to try and swing, and if it pitches straight on the seam or a little off couple of mm either side, then it will more than likley seam off the pitch as well.
so first of all causing the batsman to thing about counter attacking the swing from your bowling, if it seams as well they will have double the amount of things to think about, esecially if they like playing the ball late, because it could all well be too late for them and a quick walk back to the pavillion in shame ;)
thats 3 years worth of training lol, not everything i know but the best ways to get maximum swing, hope it helps and u have a succesuful season and training periods before hand working on it!!

oh a good question.there is easiest way but first you have to practise it.when you hold ball you see a stripe of thread .but you hold the ball to opposite side in such a way that half oif the stripe is left side and half of it is rigth side.now move your hand anticlockwise and bowled it.first time you have difficulty and your speed is also not very fast.but the practise is must.see the action of other bowlers too.
