i didn't stop until around 3.5 - 4 months, my doctor said it was fine, once you get bigger you will know it's time to find a different sleeping position, it will be very uncomfortable.

You will stop sleeping on your stomach when it becomes uncomfortable. I am going into my six month (third pregnancy) and still find it the most comfortable way to sleep.
Unlike sleeping on your back, which can reduce blood flow to the baby, stomach sleeping is perfectly safe.

When it becomes uncomfortable. Just listen to your body and be aware of your comfort level. With my kids, I had to stop sleeping on my stomach around 4-5 months....but with this pregnancy (I am 37 weeks) I still find myself waking up on my belly with one leg propped up for support....but i am smaller with this pregnancy than I was with my others.
Get a body pillow...It is the pregnant womans best friend! That way, you can lay against it and still feel like you are laying on your bally, but it provides enough support to protect your little bump!
Good luck and Congrats!

You will come to a point where it won't even be comfortable anymore. Later on in pregnancy (about 4-5 months) it is highly recommended that you sleep on your left side. It helps relieve pressure off of your main artery that runs through your body.

whenever it starts to be uncomfortable for you.
i was pregnant over the summer so, i would flip onto my tummy for a bit to try and get a tan on my back, but after about 5 or 6 months my tummy was getting too big to do.
i've contemplated a lawn chair that has straps to remove when you want to lay on your tummy! i should invent it.
take care.

typically around 16 weeks is what most books will say, but you might have to start "training" yourself to stay on your side earlier. It's tough to make a switch if you're a stomach sleeper!

Stop when you feel uncomfortable and it causes pain. I slept on my stomach the whole time.
