I use a very soft bristled tooth brush and a mild white toothpaste (not gel). Just put a small amount of toothpaste on the brush, wet it down, and gently brush the gold and diamonds, rinse well or the toothpaste will dry and make it look cloudy. Dry with a soft towel (I use a cloth t-shirt or cloth baby diaper).
Good luck!

If you don't have one of those Sonic cleaning machines, put it in a small plastic jar with a lid, then some mild dishwashing soap & water. Put the top on it then, when you are washing your clothes put it on top of the washer or the dryer and let the vibration of the machines gently shake the jar. *LMAO*
*serious look* The main key to this is when you take it out and rinse it, use a blow dryer to dry it, if you use a cloth , tiny fibers get caught up in the jewelry if there is stones & facets.
But use a soft cloth to polish the metal.
Always use a blow dryer!

Put the jewellery in a small bowl with a little bit of mild soap and lukewarm water. Let it soak for about an hour. All the dirt will settle in the bottom of the bowl. Rinse thoroughly.

When I want a thorough cleaning I use a sonic jewelry cleaning machine. Between times the soft toothbrush/toothpaste works well.
