My best friend has always been of the opposite sex. Definitely makes for an interesting friendship. I think we met in 8th grade, but didn't start actually hanging out until Freshman year. You are never too young to have friends, regardless of what sex they are. As for mixing sexuality into the mix? Well, that's a tougher question.

Being in a relationship is not an easy thing.Even making it last longer will be very hard indeed.
Well, altogether,Age is not a factor.Yet,maturity comes first in every aspect:

Emotionally-Do you follow your mood/feelings to decide things first?Or do you think first before making any decisions?

Financially-Are you paying for your own expenses most of the time or do you depend on your parents?

Time-Can you cope up with everything you do,like studies, duties, etc?

Sacrifices-Are you willing to make sacrifices for your partner? Sacrifice of time, energy and money?

Commitment-Are you going to make your first relationship a "trial and error relationship"?Or a long-term relationship? And are you going to love ONE person only till you leave this world?

Thus, before you would even want to enter a sexually active relationship, think about this question:
Can you fulfill all the needs that a relationship needs?
Are you mature enough to think for yourself or do you need someone to decide for you...?

Take care!

It depends if you already like someone, but I didn't have my first relationship until after my freshman year of high school.

When they are mature enough and the parents agree. I was 12, but my parents knew and were always watching.
