I'm not sure but it isn't blubber - I looked it up and blubber is the thick layer of fat under the whale's skin that is used to make oils.

Whale meat is just that, whale meat. Blubber is the layer of fat between the skin and meat. The Inyupit name for the blubber and skin together is muktuk. Whatever you call it, I dont like either one!
