Its rather a redundant question because the internet is wired into most public and private schools - it would make more sense to ask why certain places are so behind the times and don't have it in their schools. Do they want their children behind the learning curve?

Good Luck!!!

In Australia every school has the interent.
I think theres 1 computer for every 3 students at my school

In basically every subject there some form of research to do (except maths and english) whethere it be finding out about different laws or whats been done to combat a certain issue the internet is used enough to do alot of research.

The use of email within schools is also growing and every student has there own private email, it makes things easier to transport things from one computer to another as everything has to be word processed these days. Its also alot more convinent to send in an assigment rather than print it and hand it in

The Internet might be useful in school for certain projects.

But I don't think it should be used on a daily base.
You are at school to learn things.
You don't do your research during school hours...but after school.

So it does make sense that the internet should be kept for home use. Besides...you cannot provide a computer for every kid at school...even so...it would not surprise me to see that happening in the near future.

The internet should be available in school - for research, school-related info ONLY! I am so sick and tired of seeing all the questions 'how can I bypass the firewalls at school to get into myspace?' Give it up!! There's no legitimate reason why myspace needs to be accessed at school unless, like a friend of mine, you are doing your thesis on myspace (mind you, her major is forensic psychology).

The Internet is a great source of information, you can find literally anything you want. Therefore, it is a great tool for school...you can research as much as you want.
