IF it was not an accident then there was a cause.
People who believe it was not an accident call the cause The Creator. No one really knows much about who that is. We tend to label him/her/it GOD and many people think that all we know about God is all there is to know. While much we know may be true it is not ALL of God, just the bits we are allowed, or capable of knowing.
WHY is another question with many different answers. I am not aware that GOD (whoever, whatever..) has ever answered.
Catholics say God made us so that we can KNOW him, LOVE him and serve HIM.
Why dont you ask God?

God created what we know of today, but from there the chain of events happened as they are. One can believe in God and evolution at the same time. Anyone who sees the scientific facts about our past and how everything has evolved cannot deny evolution, but that does not mean you have to discredit religion over it. People who believe too much in religion become dependant and science scares them because they seem to think if they take interest in the "Evil" science that doesn't involve God they will be sinners in the eyes of Vatican Dogma. It is sad to see both cannot live in harmony. One gives answers to spiritual life the other gives answers to physical life.

Maybe it's all a process of knowing thy self, and we all abide within a mind as expressions in this process of self knowing? All of creation is the answer to the void that existed between the active and reflective/passive, us being parcels of the neutralizing? To solve the alpha of ignorance which is as an ameba (the epitome of ignorance) and laws place in order to move that alpha to it's omega of knowing, completion. If the alpha is evolving to the omega doesn’t our observations of this phenomenon constitute that life is a process of self knowledge, self important, self completion – life seeking to reach its omega?
I feel that things are holographic and if the assertion is true that man is made in God's image, that is the soul, and then it should be apparent that we seek to know thy self. Is it so hard to imagine that God is seeking to know self through us and this is holographic in our own desires for individuality and self expression? There are no accidents.

Lord Brahma was the responsible and he did so by the order of Lord Vishnu (God) and the reason was to make us suffer and thus realise that it is impossible to enjoy life in a uncertain, deceptive, frustrating world, where everything, every dream, any kind of life is devoured by death, tormented by wars and diseases, etc so we can get real and turn our face to our real self -Atman- spiritual soul and look for our real world - spiritual world- and our real Lord - Krishna, Vishnu, Govinda.

Creation was an "accident" though. It randomly occurred when the proper circumstances aligned. Pretty awesome huh?

Creation mmm no such thing! - life on this planet evolved from the primeval swamp, and has evolved further by natural selection and survival of the fittest.
