It depends on the dead person...i guess that if the person was nice then it would be a bit unfair...but i dont think people that are nasty in life should expect to be loved after they are gone any more than they should of expected it when they were alive...take an abuser or murderer for an example...you'd all be bloody hypocrites if you said it was wrong to say good riddance to bad rubbish after they had died...and that you wouldnt say a bad word...same as in life you cant generalise here...each individual is different...;0)

It is wrong to talk about anybody like that. I don't know how you could insult a dead person, but in my books, it is not ok to say anything about anybody that will spite someone's good name. Hope this helps. Have a lovely day!

you could say it's wrong to insult anyone or talk ill of them , but who doesn't love a good bitching session!
as long as the insults have merrit and are not unfounded i don't think it matters and i have also thought that there are a few peoples graves i would like to do a wee dance on in the future!

Is it wrong to speak ill of Adolph Hitler or Mohamed Atta? Is it wrong to speak ill of an abusive parent who happens to be deceased? Is it wrong to speak honestly about any deceased person, speaking of his faults as well as his good characteristics? Suggesting that one should never speak ill of a person because he is dead is like saying they should not be remembered as they actually were, with his bad points and his good. There is certainly no point, though, in being brutal in your criticism just because he's not there to answer back.

I remember a speech, perhaps a funeral eulogy, from when I was young, in which the speaker said we should not memorialize the deceased party in death beyond what he was in life. (i.e. honestly) I believe it was Robert Kennedy regarding his assassinated brother, President John Kennedy, although I am not certain who was speaking or of whom.

But then if you have issues with them that you haven't had a chance to sort out, you need to express yourself, don't you?
