I cant believe i'm asking this. Oh, betrayed!! lol.......

Actually, ive been on his side from the day he ws drafted.
I think the comparisons to Peyton are unfair, but i'm waiting for this kid to really go nuts on the NFL. He's a pretty decent player, above average, but i think he still makes young QB mistakes.

Ive heard a guy on the subway call him a "bust". I dont think that.
What do YOU think?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I can't even believe you asked this question!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know my answer here............ No freakin way is he a "bust". He's a young QB who makes rookie mistakes - people seem to think he should come out and be #1 because of who his dad is and since his brother is a great QB. Well, you have heard my opinion on that comment a few times. It's stupid for ppl to keep comparing him to his brother..... if Peyton wasn't his brother, then I don't think anyone would have that much to say about Eli! He's young - give him a break! I have always thought that Eli was a great choose for the Giants - it's the coach who's the "BUST"!!!!!!!!! I think Eli would be doing so much better if the Giants weren't coached by a total MORON! I hope you told that guy on the subway that he needed to STFU! =)

No, I really like Eli. Hes young still. And I ignore the comparisons to Peyton because Eli is a different kind of QB. I like that he is more mobile that Peyton. I love Peyton too. I think when and if they get rid of Coughlin Eli will do better. Personally I think hes doing just fine. Giants have had some problems with year. The game that they lost to the cowboys Eli did everything he possibly could. People like the guy on the subway just don't give these young guys a chance. They expect instant success. And it boggles my mind how people tend to focus so much on the QB and don't stop to look at the guys around him. Its a 22 man team....Not a one man team....I have heard people bashing Eli and I get mad...... Im always like give the kid a chance. Eli is playing good. Ive liked him since his rookie year and will continue to be a fan.

You guys are ridiculous. He has only been in the league 3 years and you want to call him a bust. The fact of the matter is that by Eli being Eli Manning and being in New York when they win its Eli the great, win they lose he's a bust. And can name several QBs in the NFL that is worse then him. David Carr is the worst QB I have ever saw i nmy entire life at any level. Aaron Brooks is terrible. Drew Bledsoe is nasty looking, Jake Plummer is just garbage. He makes young QB mistakes because he is young. Tom Coughlin does not know how to manage a game. Their playcalling puts Eli in some bad positions. You guys in New York and are just not patient. You guys are the same guys that says A-Rod sucks and you dont want him and he won AL MVP for your team two years ago lol! Watch win Eli starts taking you guys to the playoffs every year its gonna be like "Eli Manning baby". And as far as Michael Vick being overrated get serious. This guy is has btroken the record for most rushing yards by a QB and will rush for a 1,000 this year. Is he overrated because he has not won a superbowl. In that case Peyton Manning is overrated. Nobody likes to say that though. Vick has been to the playoffs as well. The fact of the matter is that there is this stigma that all ha can do is run and a running QB cant win a superbowl. And running QB's happen to be what "Black" You guys piss me off with that crap. Just like people said Matt Leinart woud be most ready to play over Vince young coming into the leaugue. Take a look now. Just like you said he would not be able to do the things in the NFL he did in college. My point is that when it comes to black QB's certain people still believe they cant achieve. Nobody ever says anything bad about Peyton Manning and he has had terrible games in the playoffs through out his career! You guys are nuts!

i'm Eli's best supporter, so the "Eli Sucks" chants are following me everywhere. I dont think of the two one is a bust. Rivers is one 365 days removed from a 14-2 season and you're maximum surprising, Rivers suceeded reason the league MVP became working circles around all people. however the recreation is the comparable for Eli. Manning can in basic terms flow so some distance as his O-line and working recreation will take him. secure practices and working off the play-action are key to the two Rivers and Manning. the only distinction is, Manning isn't getting to grasp a sparkling offense (albeit the comparable style of equipment) or getting used to a sparkling coach. AJ Smith would desire to have in no way fired Schotty and now the Chargers are paying the fee.

He's not a bust, yet. However the team is having a lot of issues and he hasn't developed enough to handle them. Quarterbacks are supposed to be leaders, but young QBs have a hard time when the locker room is filled with veterans who speak their mind and attack their team and teammates (certain tight ends who drop balls that hit there hands). As long time fan I would almost like to see a complete management cleaning from the top to the head coach. I wasn't to thrilled he was brought back this year, but I hope that they can fire his a** this off season (firing during the season is always ugly and tosses in the towel for a team completely). Maybe we'll get lucky and Parcells will come home.

I think that he is great...Hes still learning. It may take a few seasons for him to get completely experienced but isn't that the way that it is will all rookie football players? I don't think that he had a terrible game yesterday. I think that it was the defenses fault for letting the Eagles score so much.
Anyways, I really don't think its fair for people to compare him to Peyton..Peyton has been doing it for MANY more years than he has, and its just ridiculous to compare the two.
And i also don't think that its fair that everyone judges him on his weaknesses other than his strengths. Everyone seems to look at the bad things about him..Yes he does make mistakes, but there are MANY other QBs that also make mistakes and no one judges them. It seems like every time someone gets a chance to say something mean about him, everyone is all over him. I don't think that its fair at all.
So no, I dont think that he is a bust at all. Actually, I really like Eli, and i really love Peyton. But people do need to have the respect for him that they have for his brother.

He is a bust because he can't live up to the hype. He is a bust because he was so full of himself. He is a bust because there really is no Manning "pedigree" as the media wants you to believe. He wouldn't be a bust if he was Phillip Rivers. Although he came out of a good class of QBs and that makes him a bigger bust. I know some try to say Ben is overrated, but he has been playing HURT and as he gets healthy he has played GOOD. So what is Manning's excuse? Man it's great for the Chargers that Cry Baby wanted to be in a Big Media Market. They got Rivers instead of the big cry baby who isn't anywhere near his hype.

I believe that he had a "good" college record and got drafted because of his families reputation. I do not believe he will ever make a great QB as he has not shown anything above average since he has been starting. I think he has been in enough situations that he should not be still making "rookie" mistakes as he is no longer a rookie.
New coaching will not improve him enough to make him great.

He's a bigger success than Michael Vick, if you ask me.

Neither has lived up to the hype, but if I had the choice of either QB to run the 2-minute drill, down by 5, then I'd take Eli any day.

He's a decent quarterback right now. He's still got a lot of growing to do. I wouldn't make a judgement call on him until he's been around for at least one more season. He's not a bust, not yet.
