What i want to know is how can you fix something you dont have. What you mean to ask is"can you buy the matereals to make your own floating shelves" You must have something that is broken in order to buy the "fixings" being the things used to FIX something.

You can do it yourself with a spirit level and a few bits of old threaded bolt steel! Mark your line on the wall with the spirit level. Mark where the holes will go on the wall (EVENLY SPACED). Drill STRAIGHT into wall with suitable sized drill and put good quality wall plugs in. Use wooden dowels with a tiny bit of blue chalk on the ends. Push into holes and make sure they are in a line using the spirit level. Offer up the suitably sized shelf KEEPING IT LEVEL AND STRAIGHT until it touches the chalk marks. That is where you drill your holes. Put the threaded steel into the wall and thighten up. Then put your shelf onto the threaded steel that sticks out of the wall. For extra security you can mark a line on the two end holes under the shelf and put a small screw in to stop the shelf sliding off the mounts. Worked for me and only cost me £2.00. for the 1mtr length of threaded bar.
