The Honda Civic. Superb gas mileage, outstanding reliability,
generous resale value, great looks, and fun to drive. None of
the others quite measure up so thoroughly.

The Cheapest is the Elantra at about Rs.9L on road or petrol and Rs. 10.5L on road for a fantastic Diesel CRDi. Great value in this segment.
I think the Laura is highly overpriced (Rs. 12+L) for what it offers. In the rest of the world it is not a premium vehicle. I would also not recommend the Corolla (11.5L on road) or the Cedia (because it looks old), though the Cedia drive is amongst the best of what you have asked,
That leaves the Civic. It's only weak point is the price (Rs. 12.5L on road), low profile, and the smaller boot. But everything else is easily the best - the best drive, ride and handling, and the console looks straight out of a sci-fi movie. Easily the smartest design.
I would just choose between the Elantra (because it is cheaper) or the Civic (it is the best)

Though I own a Honda Civic still I feel Toyota Corolla is the best car in the world. It has got every single good feature with it. Good Mileage, low maintenance best resell value.

each of these cars fall into a different price bracket...so its no point asking in general which is the best car?
again, the hyundai elantra comes with a very good crdi engine....which makes for good driving and onroad now with good dealer discounts.
the honda civic is quite expensive at around 12.5Lakhs onroad, but is a big car, with all gizmos and technology....which might catch ur fancy.
the toyota corolla -is as popular as the volkswagon beetle....if not more reliable.

Good choices-
I think that you should go for the Octavia Laura because-
1. It has a good pick up.
2. It is rally very stylish and spacious.
3. It is really very rare car to be seen in India.
Price should be about- the best cost should be about 16 lakhs.
i know it is expensive but worth it.

by comparing above all the cars - by power and engine capacity they are in the range of 1800-2000 cc bracket. but choosing a car requires a lot of parameters to be considered such as engine , mileage, built, interior, exterior, safety features and lots more.
by comparing all the cars on above criterias finnaly " skoda - Laura" wins the battle.
because aobut safety it is having double galvanised body which none of the car offers. and about engine , mileage its outstanding(both in diesel & petrol) plus it also comes with sunroof which none of the car offers.
skoda is the best........
