Have same trouble with our 2 year old. I usually give him a bear hug to keep his arms and legs from flailing and my wife uses the medicine dropper. Of course I've gotten a fat lip a couple times from him throwing his head back, but I guess that's the price of being a Dad. He's getting better about it.

Ask the pharmacist if that particular medication can be flavored. When my daughter was that age, I made suckers for her out of chocolate chips. I melted the chocolate, mixed the medicine in, and put the mixture into a candy mold. The pediatrician suggested that remedy. I tried it, and it worked wonders for us.
Some people would say that you shouldn't mix medicine and candy because the child might take too much of the medicine if they manage to get hold of it, but I always kept the medicines locked up.

We always used a medicine syringe while giving a bear hug and we always had a cup of water close by for a chaser...helps get the taste out and ensures that they swallow. It worked for all three of my girls until they got old enough to understand why they needed to take the medicine. Good luck!

Use a medicine syringe. You should be able to buy one at the pharmacy, or sometimes a pediatrician's office will have them. They have the dosage amounts on the outside. You fill the syringe, wet the tip, dip it sugar, then hold your little girl very snuggly, and place the syringe in her mouth, and quickly, but a little at a time, push the medication to the back of her mouth, allowing her time to swallow. Worked like a charm for me and my three boys. Hope it works for you too. Good luck!

Have you tried bribing her with a favored sweet? Sometimes that works. ('if you take your medicine like a good girl you can have a cookie'). If the Medicine is really nasty ask the pharmacy to add a flavoring they can do that now ( I wish they had that when I was young) Wal~Mart pharmacy has it so the others should as well just ask.

I have had this problem with my child. My suggestion is try putting it in a drink that she normally is not allowed to drink. Perhaps, soda or a fruit drink. She will never know!

Put it in her favorite food. Then when she eats the food, she will get the medicine. I'd use soup or spagetio's or even her favorite drink

Put it in a medicine dropper and put the dropper in the side of her mouth and squirt it in.
