It should be divisible by 2 and 9

for it to be divisible by 2 unit digits should be even 0,2,4,6 or 8

and sum of digits should be divisible by 9 to be divisible by 9

so both above condition should be satisfied

No. Since 3 and 4 are coprime, then using such a division test would work. However, 2 is a factor of 6, so anything divisible by 6 is going to be divisible by 2 also. But not all numbers that are divisible by 6 are divisible by 12. For example, 18 is not divisible by 12.

you can test the divisiblity by 18 by breaking it into its factors, which are coprime to eachother.
If the above statement sounds a bit like an alien language, use this(its the same what i wanted to say above but in simple terms): just check the divisibilty by both 9 & 2 (since, 9*2 = 18)
Divisibility test for 9 is : the sum of digits of the number is divisible by 9
Divisibilty test for 2 is : I don't need to tell you this :d

Two necessary condtitions

1) All digits add up to a number divisible by 9 not just 3

2) The number is even
