I beleive that a lower infant mortality rate is a higher standard of rigths. A afrocuban woman witch parents "had" to get out of Cuba stands that is a minor detail compared to free speech and other rigths.
In Cuba the infant mortality rate is 6.22 per 1000 births (The lowest in Latin América)
In USA 6.43
In Porto Rico 9.14
In Jamaica 15.98,
In Haiti 71.65 (The higest in Latin América)
Other data from Cuba: literacy rate- 97%
And from Brasil, country with large african descent population:
Infant mortality rate : 28.6 per 1000; literacy rate 86.4%
Life expectancy in Brasil 71 years - in Cuba 77 years.
I think if she was born in Brazil it was less sure she would be alive and if she was that she could write and read or if their parents would live mutch longer or if they would still be alive. I think it`s part of her religion to not see ONE good thing in the cuban regime. She is too limited anyway...

Interesting statistics but what is the question? Do you oppose Cuban defection to other countries? Based on the mortality statistics okay but what about quality of life, personal freedoms etc.? I'm not sure why some people defect from their homelands but usually they have their own personal validations. But I'm still confused on the purpose or point? Sorry.

What this is technically saying is as long as the government provides then its OK even if you cant speak out or have even a slight modicum of political freedoms.

Depends on who you ask I guess. Personally I dont trust people like Castro no matter what "good" or "progress they do. (something about DICTATORS that I dont trust).
