So, I have a choice between getting a job (I am in high school), or playing soccer. We were conference champs last year, but we have lost many of our players. My parents want me to get a job, they say it will make me more responsible. I agree. However, I LOVE soccer and I was really looking forward to playing this year. What should I do? I have a friend working at Sonic and she says I will definetly get a job.

We need to know why your parents want you to get a job. If you're parents are paying for things like a car, cell phone, clothing, etc. for you, perhaps you should go with the job and kick in a little money to help them pay for your things. If they are merely trying to teach you responsibility, then perhaps you could find a job that allows you to play soccer and work at the same time. Many part-time jobs have very flexible hours that allow high school students the chance to both work and play sports.

Depends...If you are a senior, I'd go with the job, unless you plan on playing in college or trying for a scholarship or something. Then I'd go with soccer.
If you are a junior or less, I'd go with soccer first. You have time to get a job later.
