How much influence does Israel have on American policy?

Very little, actually. Now, that does not mean that we don't give Israel a lot of consideration, as they are our ally and close friend. Just as we give our EU "allies" consideration when formulating our policy.

I'm disappointed that there are people who wish to reconsider our long-held support of Israel because a bunch of scum-sucking jihadist camel-spawn hate Jews. That smacks of plain moral cowardice and appeasement of evil people - shameful ways for people to be - and also very European, I might add.

Anybody who thinks Israel really has a lot of influence is deluding themselves, based on a conscious or subconscious hatred of Jews.

Israel herself has very little influence on US policy. However, American Jews and other American Zionists wield a lot of power and influence. If your concern is that we support too much, we also support the UK, Japan, Spain, and many other countries, most of which are far less friendly to us than Israel is.

We have very similar form of government, laws and morals and Israel has always been a close friend. that is a lot more than you can say for the rest of the middle east. For those that attack Israel like ex president Carter they are basically appeasers, these are people that feel if you suck up to bullies they will leave you alone.

Israel has America by the short and curlies. For some reason America supports this one tiny nation, which comprises less than 0.01% of the world's total population but controls upwards of 15% of TOTAL GLOBAL WEALTH.
America also forgets that:
ISRAEL IS THE MOST CENSURED NATION BY THE UN BAR NONE. NO OTHER NATION COMES EVEN CLOSE.
FOR EVERY CONDEMNATION OF ISRAEL, THE ONLY NATION BLOCKING IT BY VETO IS THE US.
Not even Iraq, Yugoslavia or even Rwanda comes close.

American Government is the ONLY nation to not ACCEPT the WORLD AGREED 1968 BORDERS and ISRAEL CONTINUES TO OCCUPY STOLEN LAND.
The American Government also believe the FALLACY that more innocent Israelis have died at the hands of Arabs than the truth of Israel having a massively more powerful army than any single neighbour and routinely ISRAEL KILLS INNOCENT BYSTANDERS INCLUDING WOMEN AND CHILDREN INCLUDING CHRISTIANS.
Americans also forget that ISRAEL HAS BADLY DAMAGED BETHLEHEM and PROHIBITED ACCESS TO CHRISTIANS' MOST HOLY SITES as well as DAMAGING many other IMPORTANT CHRISTIAN SITES.
American government also forgets that ISRAEL HAS SHOT AND KILLED CHRISTIAN PRIESTS and UN PEACE OBSERVERS SEVERAL TIMES.
For some reason also American governments tend to forget ARIEL SHARON WAS A CONVICTED WAR CRIMINAL WHO KILLED SEVERAL HUNDRED LEBANESE AND PALESTINIANS REFUGEES INCLUDING ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS.
