Anyone remember 80s/90s Irish tv show loosely based on Deirdre of the sorrows?

I think it was based in Belfast and was about the troubles in Ireland. It ended with a girl walking around the streets in her white nightgown, with her hands bandaged, going crazy.

Can anyone tell me what it was called or who starred in it.
