I know of some grown ups that are not so bright and they were breastfed as babies|?

We've done both with our children. Haven't noticed a difference either way.

Whey they are young, the best thing to do to get them interested in learning is to read to them...every night.

When they get older, the best thing to do is to encourage them...and let them fail (don't jump in to get that project finished, etc.) so that they learn the consequences of their actions.

Of course, these examples worked for us because our children don't have any learning/physical impediments to learning.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum. I have five children...three were breastfed. The two that weren't are just as bright as the others. My son who is six is extrememly bright. He gets straight A's, and is very advanced in many things. He was formula fed. It all has to do with genetics. Sure, breastfeeding is great and is the ultimate food for a baby. Your body produces the nutrients that YOUR baby needs, so it is specially designed. It is more conveniant too. No bottles to scrub, nothing to mix and warm...very easy. But, as far as it making a child smarter, research says it is possible, but from my experience it's not true.

I know that research shows that "breast milk is best", but I was formula fed, and I turned out just fine. I was not sick that much when I was a baby/child, was valedictorian of my high school, have a masters degree and am now a CPA. I am now formula feeding my 7 month old son and he seems very aware and bright. He has not been sick at all (knock on wood). He is a very active intelligent little man; I don't really think that theory holds true. I am all for breastfeeding if that is what you want to do, but if not, then don't. I think either way, breast or formula, you should do what is best for your situation.

I don't think that being formula or breastfeed have anything to do with it.My daughter who is only 12 months old was formula feed and she already has 11 teeth(3 of which are her 1 year molars) says about 15 words, started walking at 9 months, knows where her nose is,knows what her shoes, and pants are and is doing other stuff that most kids her age are not doing yet.
And to call any baby stupid or slow even as adults I find a bit offensive.Unless maybe you are.

Well, breastmilk is proved to be very good for your children but I do not think that formula fed babies are going to be stupid or slow due to the milk that they drink. I think that formula might cause allergies later in life for some formula fed kids. Breastmilk helps to fight off a bunch of illnesses (like the flu) and I believe allergies too.

i offered goat's milk and extra it to the extra much less costly domestic dog alternative stuff alongside with somewhat yogurt and toddler nutrition...I call it pablum yet i offered the oat one and mixed it in to help get them off the mother's milk....yet no longer whilst they're new born. they want the domestic dog alternative formula if the mother isnt feeding them. Goat's milk is a thank you to pass so added them jointly and enriched the formula and extra the toddler cereal as they have been given older. they're 5 weeks now and that i'm grinding up domestic dog chow till that's high quality without massive chunks and including that to the nutrition and with extra yogurt. they're fat and healthful and the mama won't be able to and hasn't been waiting to furnish adequate milk for the domestic canines for a while. even with the undeniable fact that that's substantial to enable the domestic canines have the authentic mom'smilk if accessible. that provides various protection to the domestic canines till they are able to get their pictures and it basically keeps them healthful. yet you are able to desire to handle what you have if there are no shops open all night close by. Goat's milk is offered in a can by utilising the powdered milk. I swear by utilising that for domestic canines and have raised 2 very healthful litters.

I don't believe this has anything to do with the milk babies drink. It has more to do with the effort put forth on the child. Some people are just too lazy when it comes to raising children.

They dont grow up to be stupider.... no, BUT breastfed babies tend to have higher IQ's later in life. It is not a case of one is dumb one is smart, it is a case of one just has a better chance of succeeding than another.

think of it this way. You have two race cars, exactly the same. Two drivers, who are variables. But, one car has high performance fuel, the other regular fuel. Which car has a better chance of winning. You dont know because of the driver. (ie. each individual child). However, if the car had high performance fuel in it, it would have a better chance of winning... Right?? Why wouldnt you want your child to have the best chance possible of succeeding it in life??

Good Luck!

It has nothing to do with being fed formula as a baby.

I was breastfed and my IQ is 141. My sister was bottle fed and her IQ is 140.
