take a bucket and some dish cleaner and scrub brush and scrub w/ lots of soapy water, then dab it dry as dry as you can get it and spray with febreeze. see if that works.

Already there's "Sell the car" preferably to someone with no sense of smell.

I don't think there's a cleaning product invented that adequately gets rid of milk from car carpet smell.

Try a 10% bleach solution, soak it overnight then sponge it off out in the morning, rinse then repeat. The aim is to kill off the bacteria in the milk causing the pong.

Failing that, try replacing the carpet. This can be quite costly to do a decent job.

Good luck.

An option: leave a slice of bread soaked in white vinegar in a plate or bowl within your car overnight, for a few nights. Throw it away in the morning.
Or: sprinkle baking soda on the car floor and let it act overnight before vacuuming it again.
And: if that doesn't work, then spray the floor with neat white vinegar, let it act overnight. Then vacuum ASAP.
But some people swear by biological washing powders mixed with water to chase off sour milk smells. They usually make a paste of it with water. Then, they put a thin layer of this stuff on the affected areas, which is to be vacuumed off when dry.

I bought a new Bronco in 1990, Two weeks after I had it I spilled a gallon of milk on the floor. I sold the vehicle about four months ago, and the people wanted to know what the odor was. I tried everything for about six months, then I just gave up.

stick a dead animal in the car for about 2 daZe
that will cover the milk sent
you could also vomit in your trunk
pour some buck lure in the back seat
purchase some shrimp and forget about them
spray the area with a mixture of vodka and water
i think 4 to 1 or 5 to 1 with some lemon juice and lime juice mixed into
( the juice from 1 lemon and all the juice from the lime)
that should do it

I recently purchased a vehicle with the same problem. The previous owner said it was horrible, he had to pull up all the carpet, and throw it out. Now there's a bare steel floor with rubber mats. Every once in awhile I can still smell the spilled milk.I try to mask the stench with pinesol air fresheners. They work well.sorry good luck

Some lysol or surface cleaner (w/o bleach) should kill the bacteria that produced from the milk and get rid of the smell. Let your car air out for an our or two with the windows down, then spray it down with Febreeze to get anyting that might be left over.

Once the milk is dry then try mopping it with a cloth soaked in a fabric softener - in the UK I'd suggest Comfort(TM) - and then wipe it as dry as possible with a second, dry cloth. Leave this to dry and then repeat as necessary. This has worked for me in the past. Good luck.

I had same problem. Dettol Aerosol Can worked for me. Took three goes after washing the carpet but now no sign of smell. Zoflora is good for masking the smell also. Cabbies use it.

Well You could always hire one of those carpet cleaners for your house, i think they have a attachment for hard to reach places so you can possibly do your car

i think you can rent one for two days from morrison's with the cleaning chemicals for about £10.

I know you could with Safeway not sure about morrisons

then you can do ya whole car

if not for about £20 you can get it valeted at adsa or tesco
