but don't all the teams have luck on their side sometimes? A phrase which comes to mind is: "The good player is always lucky."
But it's not really about luck at all. Now I realise that I am jealous of the Italian team and of Italians in general. I had become so heated about my anti-Italia attitude that I forgot what it is that makes the world cup so special. It is the coming together of diverse backgrounds to share the passionate pursuit of foot ball. And for this one thing I am grateful.
Sure, France could have won. Lots of things could have happened. But that is all in the past. What I have to do is look into the future and see how bright it is.
So, if you Italian fans could find a place in your heart to forgive me, I would appreciate that very much. I am a young man and I don't want to fall under touzour's influence.
I love Italy and their people!!! I love the world cup!!! and most of all, I love beautiful foot ball!!!

ljtimoney: I agree with you, Germany was a very strong team and I think most everyone was expecting them to beat Italy and make it to Berlin. There was really nothing setting the two teams apart, the only thing was a magical shot from Fabio Grosso in the last few minutes of the game. There was fine technique and pin-point passing to deliver that ball from Pirlo and Grosso was a little lucky to have the ball go into the net. After that Germany pushed as hard as they could but the time pressure and good defensive technique at the back from the Italians paved the way for an Italian counter-attack. Overall, it was just not Germany's night. They can say they played well the entire tournament, even the last game was excellent but in sports sometimes it takes a little bit of luck to win. My condolences for Germany team and Germans, I understand it was a terrible moment for them. They are a very good team and always dangerous!! Maybe they will win the next world cup, who knows.

Some advice, be your own man and don't fall under the influence of anyone. It's not ones opinions that are wrong, it's how they are voiced. You do not have to agree with everyone and should not be pressured to chose loyalties. Have the conviction to support your views and feelings, just do it respectfully.

It is good that you are apologizing, however, why on Yahoo answers? I mean come on. Why not make and announcement through the newspapers or something. I appreciate your love for soccer (football), I do too! But, you can't take everything back with words. It might take a while for them to forgive you. But as long as you SINCERELY apologized, you should be alright. I was an awesome game though!!! I was rooting for France. I was kind of disappointed though at the end! Oh well, better luck next time.

its very wise of u to realise that, i used to be a foul mouth who insulted italians because i was so broken and upset bout the world cup, but then someone made me realise that i wont get anywhere with these insults and tried to bring peace, now i even made many italian friends from this site.
wot do u mean by "touzours influence"? she's a really nice lady and one of my closest friends, fine if u dont appreciate her but dont u dare insult her either.
peace and harmony!

I don't think it was luck for either nation. I think they both played well enough to end up in the final game. I really don't think bashing of any national team is cool though, my philosophy is to respect a fan, no matter who they root for. But that's just my opinion though.

i think really both Italy and France were lucky to be in the final especially Italy they definately weren't the best 2 teams in the tournement in my opinion then...I think if anyone deserved a place in the final and it hurts me to type this but it was Germany they played consistant and well Italy scraped through nearly every game.
