It's called 'ONE BITE'. most farm & feed stores carry it. it comes in 'bars'. it is HIGHLY toxic and must be put where your pets or children don't come in contact with it! But it workd great. we have found dead mice right NEXT to the stuff! They never even made it away from the area! They love it! We put it out in the shop, tool shed and even one under the seat in the old work truck! It's less than $5 a pack and a very good product!

actually how bad is the infestation? You may not have to go the poison route. are there children or pets that may unintentionally come in contact with the poison? If so, you can bait traps to catch the mice. Just a little peanut butter is all that is required. You need an exsterminator's license to obtain poison by the way. you can go to the local hardware store to get bait stations or traps. There's several different kinds available. Good luck.

Since he didn't eat the mouse, I wouldn't think that your dog would get poisoned. There is a chance that your dog did injest some of the poison, but it would not likely be enough to need to take your dog the emergency vet. I would just check up on your dog every so often for the next 12 to 24 hrs to see if he is looking or acting sick and then bring him to the vet if he is showing symptoms.

No real offense. Forgive me. "Best" and "Poison" seem a bit diametric.
WWW/browser/General search/Keywords.
In all your answers which I haven't read, I hope no suggestion has been made for "Glue Traps" and very honestly poison isn't strictly the best solution. Even at the size of a mouse, decomposition won't be pleasant for your sense of smell, as the wee critter crawls to a haven where it can expire.
Snap traps and PnutButter, then dispose of the lot.

Try keeping your house clean first, failing that get a cat.
To poison something is just plain evil but to keep your infestation under control by using a cat is just nature.

Can't you just trap it and put it out somewhere?
Poison will ensure it dies a slow, painful death. Surely you have a heart?
