I took the CVS brand of the EPT version of the pregnancy test this morning. The line going across came of pretty dark and the line going up and down came back faint, but visible. Could this be an accurate reading of positive...or should I take a EPT test (real brand) toward the end of the week to make sure?

If the line showed up before the 10 minute mark then most likely you are pregnant. Could it have been an evaporation line? (if the positive line showed up after 10 minutes)

I would take it as an accurate reading. EPT tests are just the same as the cheaper ones. All you would be doing is wasting money just to buy a name.
Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

Good luck

Hi there. You did not say how late you are so I am not sure how accurate the CVS test should be. Their brand is usually pretty good. If you have already purchased the other test you may as well use it. On the other hand if it has not been used or taken out of its package you could return it and get your money back. I mention this because so many doctors will not accept the home pregnancy test anyway and you will end up paying for the blood test that the doctor will order! It may be just as easy to wait and find out what your doctor tells you to do.
Take care and good luck! I hope that you get the test results that you want.
Blessings,

That sounds positive to me. The test line, the line that appears if you are pregnant, does not always appear as dark as the control line and in fact it can be very faint, depending on the test and the amount of hcG in your system. I would most certainly say that you are pregnant! If it makes you feel better, test again. The CVS brand is just as accurate as EPT version, so that is not the issue. But if it makes you feel better, feel free to test again on a different brand.

Congrats on the new baby! I hope its good news for you!
