There's no set time frame. As long as you're playing at an exceptional level, associate yourself with other musicians playing at the same or higher level, and getting your music out to the public, you'll have a professional career. If you're a great player, but nobody hears your music, you don't have a career and you don't get paid!

I have been playing the guitar for about 2 years... And i am not even near being a professional like yngwie malmsteen.
It can take up to 10years minimum to become a pro

I have been playing guitar for more than 14 years now and I still have more to learn. Unless you are a guitar god like Eddie Van Halen, Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Yngvie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, etc. there is always room for improvement.
