Holden by far. Ford sells its best products in australia, but the rest of their product line worldwide is pitiful. just bad engineering. For example, took me 4 hours to remove an alternator from a Mercury(Ford) cougar, where it should have only taken 10 minutes on a regular car. Holden also uses old-school v8 pushrods in their SS models- simple engineering that gets the job done.

new commodores are sheit i used to clean them - easily marked
due to cheap interiors bring back vinyl covered door pockets,
doors make a tinny sound, fabric is ****, handbrake is ****, they
spent more money on some stability system than the rest of the
car, cheap engine/box feel - makes me sad that i love holdens so much and some salesman jerk has made my quality feel
of a holden lesser.Vectras have **** electronic indicators(you gotta guess how hard to flick them to get the right flash time or
else you gotta spend a minute trying to the flasher to stop) and
**** stereo layout (if youre driving a vectra or any new holden for the first time adjust the radio before you drive because youll be
searching for buttons that do what you whant to do for minutes at a time.from what i can see some of the new holdens were designed to cause accidents by delaying speed of adjustment of
all this electronic bullshit. but they still build the gruntiest v8. with holden you only get what you pay for cheap-cheap expensive-expensive. i am tired of a fkn car that you pay 30000 for driving worse than a 15000 second hand classic its sheit - the public has been invaded by salesmen who sell down to the wire and put 2% of the profit in their pocket and then when you have a problem they only fix what they have to to get you to leave and then you have to take it back again and make such a fuss over it - this seems to be the only time they will reprogram the computer to suit whats going on - this is holden our driving future. sheit
with my fords - providing you go to genuine dealers in the same area they have your cars history on record fords were built cheaper and they know theyre going to stuff up with the same problems but the best damn service - my next car is going to be a ford hows this 600 for a power steering flush, power steering switch, computer overhaul and trans flush on a ef fairmont all
done by ford on my service history using gen parts.
bullsheit not
fords and holdens were on the same par pre 1984 and then came injection so in my opinion pre 1984 holdens better
post 1992 fords better present fords better

Good to see a true australian question. IN memory of good old brock i am going to say Holden, although i do drive a jeep. I think the Monaro winning the 23 hour race proves it. This is a car that can do 260 at 4000 revs. What an amazing piece of work.

Depends on what you want. I've owned both and found both pretty good. Holdens are sharper but less comfortable, Fords are more relaxed and torquey. I current own an old ea Fairmont. Can't kill it with a stick. Got over 400k klics.

rather of subsidising a foreign places producer to construct vehicles in Australia and deliver the salary back to anyplace the corporation is predicated (i.e. u.s. for Ford and wide-spread vehicles), it may make experience for the government to style a joint undertaking to construct Australia vehicles with Australian providers and workers. regrettably, it won't take place by using fact it may be considered as anticompetitive.
