Rule of thumb: if you're gonna go intense, only choose ONE. Either choose intense, smoky eyes and pale lips (baby pink lipgloss) or deep red lips and neutral eyes (taupe eyeshadow). It's OK to match lipstick and eyeshadow if the color is tame. The best duos are golden, lavender, copper.

Don't match taupe colors if you're light-skinned because you'll look washed-out.

Don't match really pink colors. Really pink lipstick would count as an intense color. Plus, pink eyeshadow makes you look sick.

If I were you, I would try to stay in the same color family for your lips and eyes. So, if you're wearing purples on your eyes, stick with a berry colored lipstick. Same thing goes for browns and such. If you're having a lot of trouble, go into a department make-up store and ask them what they think. I hope this helped!

If you are going with dark eyes, go with light lipstick and vice versa. Otherwise your face will have too much color and it wont look very good.

Here's the problem. You dont want to 'match' your eye's and lips. You want them to compliment each other by making one stand out more. If you want your eyes to stand out, pick a more neutral color on your lips, and if you love your lips standing out choose a neutral eyeshadow. If you have too much going on, nothing looks good. Or you can go neutral all the way. I wear gold/brown (neutral) eyeshadow with gold shimmery gloss, classic red, or glittery pink lip color. It works best for me.

ok, well it depends on what color ur eyemakeup is. i go with a shimmerry tan color that is more on the neutral side giving me more options with my lipstick. but if u r doing bright colors on ur eyes, then U HAVE TO HAVE THE FOCUS ON ONE PLACE OR THE OTHER... EITHER UR EYES OR LIPS. THEY R THE TWO MAIN FEATURES ON UR FACE. SO U COULD HAVE THE FOCUS ON UR EYES, AND JUST GO WITH A CLEAR LIPGLOSS. IT GIVES U A MOISTURIZED AND SHINEY LOOK, BUT IT JUST BRINGS OUT UR NATURAL COLOR.that's what i would do :)
